Apple launches iPhone SE, India price starts at Rs.39,000

Image
Apple on Monday night made a "return" to its roots as it launched the iPhone SE at an event in San Francisco . However, before you rush to dump the iPhone 6S and take out your wallet to buy the "new" iPhone, stop -- the iPhone SE is not a replacement for the iPhone 6S. Instead it is an update to the iPhone 5S . It not only features a design that is similar to the two-year-old iPhone but also sports a 4-inch screen, which is smaller than the 4.7-inch display that is found on the iPhone 6S. Read, Discover , and Shop for all things you want, conveniently. Look for this symbol , and click it to view shopping offers from your favourite merchants. All of this, from within this page! Update: Apple tells us that in its press release the price of the iPhone SE was erroneously mentioned as R s. 30,000. The India price is actually going to start at R s. 39,000. Indian smartphone startup Creo releases more details about its new take on Android

Image
Creo , the Indian startup that recently received $3 million in funding to create a new twist on Android, has unveiled its first smartphone, called the Mark 1. A promotional video has been posted, but the company hasn’t released hardware details yet. Founder Sai Srinivas tells TechCrunch that leaked specs cited in some reports are inaccurate, but emphasizes that Creo won’t compete on hardware. Instead, its ambitious goal is to release regular updates to its Android skin that are so unique, Mark 1 users will feel like they “get a new phone every month.” India is now the second-largest smartphone market in the world after China . The Mark 1 is launching at a tough time for Indian smartphone makers, however, as they battle competition from foreign companies. For example, New Delhi-based Micromax was the top smartphone brand in India last year, but that position has been supplanted by Samsung . Xiaomi and Lenovo are also aggressively wooing Indian consumers—even though both

iPhone SE Vs Samsung Galaxy S7 Mini: Which Low-Cost Smartphone Should You Wait For?

Image
We’ve already heard the reports about Apple releasing a 4-inch iPhone this year. It looks like Samsung isn’t letting its competition get the better of them as rumors have surfaced that they will be taking on the Apple iPhone SE with its Samsung Galaxy S7 mini. Reports, that first came out of Taiwan, are stating that Samsung is planning to build a mini version of its flagship smartphone, according to PhoneArena . This move from the tech company would certainly gather attention since Apple will also supposedly be unveiling a mini version of its iPhone. However, the question that needs to be answered is: Which smartphone is worth the wait? iPhone SE Apple is reportedly taking the old design of the iPhone 5S together with other features of the 6S into the iPhone SE, according to Forbes . Whether Apple’s move will give them an advantage or surprisingly become a complication is still up in the air. If there should be any

Getty Images HTC teases 'world-first' camera capabilities on the front and back of its upcoming flagship smartphone. As much as the HTC One M10 tries to remain elusive – at least in an official capacity – the internet remains inundated with leaked images of the upcoming flagship phone, to the extent that we've now got a pretty clear idea of what it will look like and potentially what tech it will be packing. Despite this, HTC is still trying to keep the mystery alive through a series of cryptic tweets. The company gave us our first "official" glimpse of the HTC One M10 in February and now, it has taken to Twitter once more to get people talking about the potential Galaxy S7 killer. As before, HTC has provided just enough to pique our interest. The image in the tweet shows off two camera lenses, with a caption below reading: &quo

Batman v Superman: Take a look at cool gadgets Bruce Wayne will use to bring down Clark Kent

Image
Just like Tony Stark in Marvel Universe, Bruce Wayne in DC Universe has no superpowers. Yet both of them fight shoulder to shoulder with the superheroes with real super powers. the not-so-secret reason behind it is that they both have the moolah and brains to make gadgets that trump the powers of 'aliens', 'mutants,' or 'results of experiments done in a bottle'. DC All Access talked to the prop master of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice about the gadgets The Dark Knight will be weilding against the 'Son of Krypton'. In the video, we get a closer look at batrangs which have become edgier and hence more lethal than ever before. It also gives us details about the grappling gun and Batman's helmet. We shall wait until March 25 to take a better look at Batsuit laced with Kryptonite.

Samsung is addicted to bedazzling its gadgets

Image
Samsung has a problem. It can't stop putting  stones on its devices.  It keeps happening .  The company needs help. And now the problem has escalated. Mere Swarovski crystals weren't enough for Samsung. No, now it's graduated to the harder stuff. The hardest stuff. Samsung has partnered with swiss jeweler de Grisogono to create a Gear S2 with over 100 black and white diamonds. The limited edition watch — which no one who has ever come into contact with anything resembling taste would wear — also features the galuchat watch band found on de Grisogono's traditional watches, and a pair of watch faces designed by the jeweler. de Grisogono is calling it the first luxury jewelry smartwatch, which is technically true but nonetheless tacky. Samsung hasn't said how much the watch will cost when it's released this summer, but if you're in th

LG G5, Project Ara and others: The modular smartphone revolution may come sooner than expected

Image
When Google decided to sell Motorola to Lenovo, it kept behind one of the best divisions – Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) – that includes the Project Ara modular phone concept. Last year, at IO 2015, Google demoed  several interesting projects , which raised our hopes on all those weird phone concepts that we wished could be a reality in the future. This time around, LG managed to beat Google with its big MWC 2016 modular smartphone surprise. The company didn’t just manage to (arguably) introduce the first mainstream modular phone, but also grabbed the most eyeballs at the show. The G5 comes with a slide-out battery, taking the first step towards the modular world of phones. Yes, the first step towards a world of modular phones. In the past couple of years, there’s been significant development in smartphone hardware evolution. A few years ago it w
